Key Security Features 16 Locking Bolts – Steel locking bolts protrude from multiple locations to ensure an impenetrable seal on the sides, top, and bottom of the door.

No, getting locked in is impossible. All of our doors have a manual release latch on the secret side. All you have to do is pull the handle and the door will open.
We also include a special tool with every door that makes it possible to open the door from the outside even if there is a power outage or mechanical issue. We can provide instructions on how to use the tool upon request.
The main difference is that Level 3 is designed for protection against common handguns, while Level 8 protects against high-powered rifles with much greater velocity and penetrating power. Level 8 materials are substantially thicker, heavier, and more expensive than Level 3.
When it comes to security there is no substitute for high-grade steel. Other materials can provide bullet resistance, but that creates a false sense of security because bullet resistance should always come secondary to great forced-entry protection, and for that you need steel. For most security needs, the most effective option is steel (11-gauge or thicker) that has been precision-bent on a CNC press-brake or welded to a reinforced frame, coupled with quality locking hardware and additional security features like hinge protection and strike plate reinforcements.

High-security residential entry doors are becoming more and more popular, with some manufacturers now able to combine the aesthetic appearance of a traditional wood raised panel design with the security of a steel door with vault-style multipoint locking pins. This style of door can even be outfitted with conventional lever sets that can match those in the rest of the house, making the security door appropriate for family homes. For most homeowners, a mid-range security door (steel construction with multi-point locking systems) offers the best balance of protection, cost, and appearance.
High-security doors are all designed to prevent forced entry. Bulletproofing from UL 3 (handguns) and up are optional additions. Our doors are built from fire-rated materials and in most cases satisfy building code requirements for locations requiring fire doors (like garage entrances), but due to the wide variety of protection levels, sizes and configurations that we offer they do not carry a fire certification stamp.
